My Latest WIP (Work in Progress)
Meet the Werewolf’s Parents:
A fantasy/comedy about a werewolf named Leroy who’s the runt of the litter, his mama’s favourite and the thorn in is father’s side. What an embarrassment a skinny twink-like, music-loving, tree-hugging werewolf is to the family, one who doesn’t even believe in upholding the family traditions of howling at full Moon’s and gorging on the blood of the sworn enemies of all the werewolf clans, the vampires. Leroy, who not only struggles with his family accepting him and his place in life, but to make matters worse, he has a human boyfriend named, Jason. Leroy is a humanosexual! His father is gonna die!
And that’s just the beginning of Leroy problems. Much to the disgust of his parents and his siblings (three burly ‘built-like-brick-shit-houses’ brothers), Leroy and his boyfriend are invited to a family function (his parent’s 25th wedding anniversary) and all will be there. Only Leroy's mama knows that Jason is a human, a secret she had held for two years. But no more. Leroy cannot hold onto her apron strings anymore. He is a grown werewolf and it’s about time he acted like one.
Leroy struggles with the invitation, a situation that will surely have him exposed for the humanosexual that he is, and in front of all his disapproving family, too. But Jason convinces him to go, to stand tall and be who he really is, no matter what. The time is right to tell everyone the truth.
But when Jason is finally introduced to the family on the eve of the anniversary, all sorts of hilarious and strange events follow. Leroy and Jason are participants in a basketball game from hell, an initiation ceremony and a vampire chase. Leroy wants to solidify his place in life and above all, show his family that he really does love Jason, even though he is a human…something easier said than done.
Can Jason survive the night? Or for that matter, can Leroy?
First draft complete at 30,000 words approx. Second draft will commence ASAP.
And I am also working on a novel temporary titled:
The Tempest's Kiss, a kind of horror/erotic detective story. The main character, Alfonso Belafonte is a work-o-holic. His latest case, however, will give him a lot more than he bargained for, including a new lover.
The detective, a mysterious murder, an ancient evil and a love that will blossom.
The word count for this story, tentatively titled 'The Tempest's Kiss' is at 4500 words. Word goal, 30, 000-50,000.
***I will be doing the majority of this story after I have completed the next 3 stories of The Pembroke Eve Chronicles and completed the author finals of The Keeper of the Land series. I have deadlines to meet :-)***
