I was going to write something deeply profound here today. You know, why is the universe the place that it is or why does that sock always gets lost in the dryer. Stuff like that. Questions that need answering. Questions that have been plaguing mankind since Adam walked the Garden of Eden (although Adam didn't need a dryer *grin*)

But if I answered those questions, then what would be the fun in that? Having things left as a mystery is much better IMHO than knowing everything. If we knew everything we wouldn't read books or watch movies or...well life would be rather shallow, wouldn't it? Sure, the search for answers is a noble cause, but thankfully, in the grand design of things, there will always be unanswered questions.

I think the 'not knowing' is what drives mankind. What got us out to explore and survive as a species. We continue to do so, exploring, discovering, learning. That's what being human is all about. So, you might be asking, what's this got to do with my writing?

Simple. When I begin to write I never know where it will end. And that is a wonderful feeling.
