Okay, I woke up this morning to see a few 1 star reviews for my works over there at goodreads (one of which was the FIRST review for a book of mine recently released). Sure, I understand that not everyone will enjoy my works, after all, I write different. How many authors can claim they write about alien spider sex, magical foreskins, cock docking vampires, and werewolves who eat suckling vampires for Christmas dinner? Not many I am sure, especially in the m/m genre where 'fluffy sugary sweet, boy meets boy formula stories seem to be as rife as flies around a dead sheep carcass.

Anyway, my question is, why is it those who 'hate' books are more compelled to rate and write reviews than those who love? I find it strange. If I like a book I shout it out to the world, letting everyone know how wonderful it was. If I dislike a book I leave it be, chalk it up to experience and be done with it. I certainly don't feel compelled to go on goodreads and put the author down and rate their books low. Perhaps these sort of people who do such things are attention seekers? Perhaps they need to feel that by putting others down (because a few of them are authors themselves) they feel better about themselves. Who knows.

I just find it sad. I really do.
