I think I have come off my high now after my 2nd placing at the Rainbow Awards in the Fantasy category. Sheesh! You'd think I'd won, wouldn't you?

Anyway, back to business as usual. I have completed my beta reading duties for now and have also completed the edits I needed to do for my Ravenous Romance (RR) NaNo submission, a novel titled: The Nourisher. An m/m sci-fi space opera Saga revolving around Drake, an intergalactic lawyer.

I don't know what they (RR) are looking for, other than what their general guidelines say, but as far as I can tell, I think they will be selecting novels based on merit as I don't think a novel completed in a month and then edited with even less time would be of the same caliber as a submission that has been gone through in the usual way before submission.

I have always been taught to send your very best work, polished and clean as much as possible. I don't think RR will get too many of those considering the time frame. Then again, perhaps they want to see who can come up with a polished enough novel with a relatively short deadline. Dunno?

I gave it a red hot go and will be sending off my submission sometime this coming week. If it gets rejected, I will go through it again, polish it up some more and submit it elsewhere. No great loss either way. I don't get hung up on rejection at all and really, getting work rejected is no indication of its content or quality, it's just a matter of finding the right match for your work.
