It all started with "Shadows of the Mind" in February! A novel that introduced us to Jacob, a horny young man who yearned for a boyfriend. Then one night aliens landed in a field and everything changed. So began Jacob's adventures. He met Callum and Zane and Suzy and Mr. Barnaby along the way. With his new friends, there was love for him. Then in April, "Light of the Body" was released and we found out a lot more about Jacob and his developing friendships and loves. We also discovered a enigma... Continue reading ...

It has come to my attention (and this is not a new thing) that books which follow a formula or a trope are the ones which will sell. This is the case for all genres, from crime to fantasy to romance. I have also come to the conclusion that I'm fine with that.
I know I have been ranting on, both on this blog and on facebook and wherever, but really it doesn't bother me that certain books and certain authors in every genre will always get the limelight. That's the nature of the business, after a... Continue reading ...

Time for a competition! I have racked my brains and come up with something I think you may all like. Okay, here's the deal...Simply purchase a copy of Light of the Body, the second part of the Pembroke Eve series, and I will send you a postcard featuring a lovely kangaroo/koala/Australian native animal. I live in Australia, so yeah, this is the real deal :-)
Easy hey?
I will write a note and sign the postcard, too. All you have to do is send me the receipt from the purchase and your snail mail ... Continue reading ...

If you purchase a copy of Shadows of the Mind I will give you a free copy of The Pauper's Prize or any other book from my back catalog of your choosing, including the two short stories I have done, Mama's Heart and The Cadet's Officer.
How do you get your free book? Email me the receipt of Shadows of the Mind and tell me which book you would like. Simple, hey? Oh, and you can say hello, too. I won't bite...unless requested ;-)
What could be better? Two books for the price of one. What's my emai... Continue reading ...

With the release of Shadows of the Mind, part one of the Pembroke Eve Chronicles on the 15th of Feb, I will be running a competition.
Although, this one will be a little different, because normally my competitions go down like a platter of suckling pig at a Jewish Convention...so...what's this all going to be about then?
Simply stay tuned for now.
I will say that it won't involve commenting or doing a jig naked at the next full Moon and that the prize will be a copy of my award winning and bes... Continue reading ...

I don't usually blog on weekends, but geez, I am still on cloud 9 about my Rainbow Award second placing for fantasy! I mean, wow! Recognition is da bomb! It really is.
Elisa commented that my book was a 'dark horse' and that she was glad I got a placing with it. I am, too. Although, perhaps by that she meant that I am a relatively unknown author in the grand scheme of things (which I am) and that this win will hopefully help get my name out there even more. Well, that's how I am interpreting i... Continue reading ...

Yep, I can't believe it. In the fantasy category, my book, The Pauper's Prize has made it into the next round. Round 3 is the judges choice section. Now, really I don't hold out much hope for my book progressing any further, but I tell you what, it's been a fantastic feeling having people vote for my work.
I would like to thank you all for supporting me, and above all I would like to thank Elisa for running the Rainbow awards. It has been a huge contest with well over 500 (or so) books offere... Continue reading ...

Now, seeing as Halloween is fast approaching, I thought it may be a
good idea to hear from you—my readers—about any scary stories you may
have that has happened to you. Just for a bit of fun.
It can be about anything, from actual ghosts and things that go bump
in the night to something more earthly, like being faced with an
infestation of mice in the back shed. Whatever!
To get things rolling and to help get you in the right frame of mind, here’s my scary story!
The scariest thing th... Continue reading ...

About Me
My name is Mark Alders. I live in a house. This house has a street in front of it which is a good thing because if it didn't I wouldn't be able to drive down to the shop and purchase the chocolate I need on a daily basis *giggle*
Seriously, I am a mild mannered post office worker by day and an erotic romance writer (mainly male/male) at night. Not much else to say other than, like everyone else, I have bills to pay, a mortgage and family that I love and drive me crazy all at the same time. Oh, and I have a dog, too!
See?
Average Joe...except when I get down and write...then I let my imagination go to places I never knew existed and my characters invade my mind.
