Ever Played with Action Figures/Dolls?

Posted by Mark Alders on Monday, October 10, 2011, In : news
Of course we all had action figures/dolls when we were kids. But what was the first thing we did when we got them? Well, undress them of course. In fact, if you were lucky to have a Barbie and a Ken (Or two Kens), then having them perform pretend sex, that was pretty much assured, wasn't it?

My GI Joe and I got to to have some good times together when I was a little boy and we formed some cherished memories. Such a thing was, in fact, the inspiration for this year's Christmas story. A human, c...

Advice Needed

Posted by Mark Alders on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, In : news
It seems that in my dazed and confused state this week (working 14 hour days and getting a slight cold) I entered a competition and won! Now, I've never won anything in my life, so you can imagine my surprise.

What did I win?

I won a cover promotion for one of my books for one month at either The Romance Studio, Romance Junkies or Millennium Promotions (eXtasy's promotional arm) So which one do I choose? I need to get my name out, no doubt, especially as I am a new force in GLBT speculative f...

A State of Emergency

Posted by Mark Alders on Thursday, June 17, 2010, In : news
Well, I've been in hospital...again! How did it happen this time? Well, over the weekend I experienced a sharp, shooting pain in my left leg. I immediately panicked, thinking I had another DVT (Those who know what I've been through this year will know all about that) So I went to the doctor, who in turn and also concerned, told me to get to the hospital for scans as quick as I could. He did the referrals and all that straight away.

By this stage my blood pressure was through the roof, and I ...

Dear editor (of said unnamed publication)

I, Mark Alders, am hereby withdrawing my submission to your publication. The novel, titled, "The Nourisher", has been in your company for more than 7 months, far too long for you to just sit on it with no word as to it status.

What's more, after numerous unanswered queries, it has come time for me to decide the fate of my work and build my career without your publication. I find it truly unprofessional that you haven't even bothered to email me ...

My Health and the Silver Lining

More on my health today seeing as I have been in hospital and back and forth between the doctors these past few days.I woke up Saturday morning and my urine was blood. I went straight to the doctor who sent me straight to the hospital. The upshot of it all was that I had a clot in my left kidney, and my body was giving me hell. I was in so much pain.

There is a bright side. I am no longer on any medication! Why? Because my body is passing the clot naturally and I don't have DVT anymore...

Shadows of the Mind a Best Seller!

I awoke to some fantastic news this morning! Shadows of the Mind is a best seller, reaching number 5 on the monthly rankings. Not bad for a book that was released mid month on the 15th! Then again, I didn't think I had a snow balls chance in hell to get into the charts. I had some stiff (no pun intended) competition this month. About Me

Mark Alders I am Mark Alders, writer, intactivist, post office worker, and all round nice guy...except when someone steals my chocolate! I am a proud Australian, and as such use different spellings and have some weird phrases, too. Hey, perhaps that's why I write some damn weird shit! I can't change who I am. So when you read one of my books, enjoy the ride, but please don't say I can't spell. I spell how I damn well feel like it! LOL Naw seriously, I spell like an Aussie...do forgive me because we are a breed unto ourselves. Where else can a place have 11 registered public holidays and no one has any idea what they are for except to have a BBQ and down some beers! If you do find a genuine error in my work, please let me know so I can speak with my editor...also, as an addition to that, offer chocolates as well. Lots of chocolates. *hugs* Mark
