Advice Needed

It seems that in my dazed and confused state this week (working 14 hour days and getting a slight cold) I entered a competition and won! Now, I've never won anything in my life, so you can imagine my surprise.

What did I win?

I won a cover promotion for one of my books for one month at either The Romance Studio, Romance Junkies or Millennium Promotions (eXtasy's promotional arm) So which one do I choose? I need to get my name out, no doubt, especially as I am a new force in GLBT speculative f...

A State of Emergency

Posted by Mark Alders on Thursday, June 17, 2010, In : news
Well, I've been in hospital...again! How did it happen this time? Well, over the weekend I experienced a sharp, shooting pain in my left leg. I immediately panicked, thinking I had another DVT (Those who know what I've been through this year will know all about that) So I went to the doctor, who in turn and also concerned, told me to get to the hospital for scans as quick as I could. He did the referrals and all that straight away.

By this stage my blood pressure was through the roof, and I ...

My Health and the Silver Lining

More on my health today seeing as I have been in hospital and back and forth between the doctors these past few days.I woke up Saturday morning and my urine was blood. I went straight to the doctor who sent me straight to the hospital. The upshot of it all was that I had a clot in my left kidney, and my body was giving me hell. I was in so much pain.

There is a bright side. I am no longer on any medication! Why? Because my body is passing the clot naturally and I don't have DVT anymore...

Shadows of the Mind a Best Seller!

I awoke to some fantastic news this morning! Shadows of the Mind is a best seller, reaching number 5 on the monthly rankings. Not bad for a book that was released mid month on the 15th! Then again, I didn't think I had a snow balls chance in hell to get into the charts. I had some stiff (no pun intended) competition this month. About Me

Mark Alders My name is Mark Alders. I live in a house. This house has a street in front of it which is a good thing because if it didn't I wouldn't be able to drive down to the shop and purchase the chocolate I need on a daily basis *giggle* Seriously, I am a mild mannered post office worker by day and an erotic romance writer (mainly male/male) at night. Not much else to say other than, like everyone else, I have bills to pay, a mortgage and family that I love and drive me crazy all at the same time. Oh, and I have a dog, too! See? Average Joe...except when I get down and write...then I let my imagination go to places I never knew existed and my characters invade my mind.
