Under: news
Today, after nearly 6 days in hospital (as a hospital@home patient) I have been discharged! This means one thing for me. NO MORE NEEDLES IN THE STOMACH!! I couldn't be happier. The down side is that I have to go to the doctors today for more blood tests to make sure the levels are right in my system to help dissolve the clot. I then have to go every week for at least 3 months to make sure things are good. I will be on the drugs for 6 months.
So...what are the lifestyle changes I will have to undertake to make sure I NEVER get this again?
1) I cannot sit still for more than an hour. I must get up and walk around the room or exercise my legs. 2) On long car trips or plane trips I have to wear compression stockings (on really long flights I may have to take drugs, too) 3) I will have to exercise more regularly. I am already planning on buying a bike. There are plenty of bike paths around where I live. Time I used them. 4) Eat a bit healthier.
So really nothing too troublesome. Thank God for my partner urging me to go to the doctor. It saved my life.
I am Mark Alders, writer, intactivist, post office worker, and all round nice guy...except when someone steals my chocolate! I am a proud Australian, and as such use different spellings and have some weird phrases, too. Hey, perhaps that's why I write some damn weird shit!
I can't change who I am.
So when you read one of my books, enjoy the ride, but please don't say I can't spell. I spell how I damn well feel like it! LOL Naw seriously, I spell like an Aussie...do forgive me because we are a breed unto ourselves. Where else can a place have 11 registered public holidays and no one has any idea what they are for except to have a BBQ and down some beers!
If you do find a genuine error in my work, please let me know so I can speak with my editor...also, as an addition to that, offer chocolates as well. Lots of chocolates.
*hugs*
