Under: Thoughts on Writing
Writing (and reading) a lot of m/m erotica I am often amused by how some authors describe the mechanics of how two boys make love to each other.
First and foremost, the anus is NOT a vagina! It does not 'get wet' when the guy is excited (yes, I've read this--and then stopped reading the book altogether and deleted it out of my reader) A penis doesn't just 'slip' into it either. There's a bit of work to be done, to be honest, to get the most out of anal sex for both the top (pitcher) and the bottom (catcher). One cannot just open his legs and slam away like he's a 20 dollar hooker on a time limit. Sure, sex can be rough and quick, but again, the anus isn't a vagina (did I mention that already? LOL So some preparation is paramount.
And by preparation I mean, lube, lube and lots of lube. Also, finger play and any sort of manual stimulation will be the start of making sure you don't hurt him. The anal sphincter is a muscle and needs to be relaxed as best as it can before anal sex should even be considered. Also, just slamming your penis into it and banging away will probably undo all the good work you've done. Sure, you may be excited, as hard as a rock, and dribbling pre-cum to get your cock in, but again, some patience will go a long way just before you do the deed :)
The best way to enter his anus is to not come at it directly. Try running the head of your cock up the 'taint' (the area between his anus and his balls) and going in that way, applying more and more pressure as you get closer to the hole. This will help relax the sphincter and allow for easier penetration than just an all out push from direct on. You can also do this from above, coming down in the same manner (depending on how he is positioned and what's better at the time)
When you have entered him, again, going full on may not be the best idea, especially if you have a large head. Once you have entered him so your head is inside him, then movement will be a lot easier. The anus has a bit of suction to it (just ask any proctologist about the many 'bottles' and other objects he/she sees stuck up there from over enthusiastic men) From here, you can enjoy. Try different positions, different speeds, different pressures. All this will help enhance the experience and make your man beg for more. It will also give you a really good idea of what he likes and what he doesn't like.
A word about the prostate. It cannot be reached by the tongue. It's a physical impossibility. Also, some guys have a sensitive prostate, while others not so much. Experimenting with positions (as I mentioned above) will ensure you find the most suitable arrangement for your love making. Some guys like their prostate stimulated all the time (lying him on his back will be the best for this) Others not so much (doing him doggy-style would be best for him) Again, mix it up, ask, and experiment. That's what being with another person is all about anyway.
Finally, anal sex does NOT make the spine tingle! Yes, stomachs can churn, cocks throb, knees go weak, and an all over sense of euphoria emanating from the anal region and testicles is common, but sorry, no spine tingling. Some guys say that when they are licked down there, they experience a sensation in their coccyx region which is close to a tingle, but I must stress, this is not an all over sensation. If I read 'his spine tingled' again I will throw up...
I hope you enjoyed my bog post today :)
