Well, I had five days of winter bliss down at Phillip Island. Actually, the weather was brilliant. No rain, slight breeze and sun in good doses. There was no TV, no phone and no internet. (But I did sneek the laptop down so I could write while everyone slept :-))

Day one saw us arrive, shop, get food, shop, get food, eat, shop and I think we shopped. The next day we went to a town named San Remo (yes, like the pasta) and watched the pelicans being fed. We then...surprise, surprise, shopped some more. Had wonderful fish and chips on the beach and then headed for the Phillip Island chocolate factory. Suffice it to say, I was in HEAVEN!!!! I made friends with a robot who kept dispensing chocolate when you pressed certain buttons. I think I stuffed my pockets and my mouth and couldn't hold onto anything because I was carrying heaps, too. In fact, I believe I had so much, the staff had to replenish the thing LOL

Day three we we were off on a tour on a cruise ship of the bay. We saw how abundant the wildlife in that part of he world was. There were Humpback Whales, Southern Right Whales, pods of dolphins, penguins feeding where the waters of the bay and the ocean meet, an albatross, and the largest fur seal breeding colony in Australia. When we got to the 'seal rocks' as it's known, the water was teaming with them. Over 7000. What's more, because the males are out hunting this time of year, the females all came to the boat. Jumping and doing acrobatics and generally curious. They were watching us as much as we were watching them. Amazing.

Then on the fourth day we went shopping, ate some more great food and spent the whole afternoon fishing at a trout farm. I learned how to fish and could keep whatever I caught (which was only one fish) Still, I had a great time, as did all of us.

Then we left early on the fifth day. Exhausted from doing so much, but thankful we had some time to spend with each other without the modern day distractions. Wonderful.

On arriving back in Melbourne, I finished my latest and final chapter of the Pembroke Eve Chronicles, titled, Hope of the Spirit. Next up, the author final of Centaur's Awakening, then I'm gonna work on my Christmas story :-) All go!

Chow until next time.
